England Merrie England!
Back in the Old Country where witches are part of everyday life – looking for traditional English recipes with a Heckerty twist.
Did you know that a common dish in the North of England is called “Toad-In-The-Hole”? Do you think they made it with REAL TOADS?
Food Glorious Food
I’m learning to cook. Really. You see, my new adventure is all about cooking and so now I’m starting all over and studying hard. Beetles, lizards, toads – I think they all have to come off the menu and I’ve got to start with new stuff like chocolate and cookies and other things that will appeal to more people. Is that right? Would you rather have a toad pie or a toad-in-the-hole? Or worms in red sauce or spaghetti bolognese? They look the same to me but I think they’ll taste different.
If you have a favorite recipe will you send it to me so I can learn more? I’d love it if you do.
Just send an email to heckerty at heckerty dot com
Bye for now!!
Heckerty’s Happy!
Hi – it’s me again! And – oh wow! The response to me has been amazing. And while witches don’t really watch the Oscars – I know how Sally Fields felt!
“You like me, you REALLY like me!”
Here are some comments:
This app was a lot of fun. Definitely had a lot of detail and thought put into it. I love the story, animations and the voice acting.
It really brought me back to my childhood. They did a great job translating great story telling with technology.

This is such a charming children’s book! It’s great for helping kids learn to read. Tapping on each word reads it aloud too! Highly recommended!!!
“Highly recommended!” me!
I must rush and tell Zanzibar….
“Highly recommended!” well, I never…..
Wheeeee! Up, up and away!!
I’m flying. I really am.
Check out the website, and the iTunes store. Oh me, oh my, I’m REAL at last!
So very near….
Ooooh looks like I am really close to being available in all the stores. I can’t wait! My stories are ready and very soon you’ll see the first one for Apple iOS devices – iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch. And you’ll see me for Android devices, phones and tablets and I’ll be easily found in the Amazon and Google stores, too.
Zanzibar is prowling round and round – he’s nervous and he’s making me really excited. I’ll be flying soon – just you wait and see!
Witches, wizards and Winchelsea!
Visiting the Olde Country to spend time with my witchy family. Dozens of cousins frequent the public areas in the Manor House Oast B and B - check it out and see. And don’t forget to look up at the weather vane… Oh it does my heart good to see my cousin on the top of the Oast House! Cousins in covens – it’s such a lovely warm feeling.
See you there!
Heckerty’s Blog #322
This is getting more and more exciting! And my new outlook on life feels soooo good. Everyone says that smiling takes years off me! But I am 409 – and at my next birthday I’ll be – 409!! It works that way in Spellbound.
Ohhhh I hate summers! It’s hot and muggy and the water makes my hat stick to my head – my eyes go red and my face goes even greener. And my hair — don’t get me started about my hair. I mean, I like the way it sticks out – I think it makes me look radiant actually – but in the heat, it gets all tangled up and it catches on everything. Maybe I should shave my head. Hah! Maybe not – says Zanzibar. Maybe he’s right. He usually is.
So to bring you up to date on the story – the Cauldron Cookbook is well under way with lots of delicious recipes and lovely pictures. Wait til you see my “Cat in a Green Tureen” soup – no,no Zanzibar not YOU In a green tureen – oh it’s delicious and looks so well, well, GREEN! And the spider cakes and the broomstick twigs – oh yummy, yummy, yum!
And we’re working on the stories to tell you. The wonderful adventures of my life, tremendous tales from my 409 years of witchering – you are going to love them! Heh! I know you will because I do!
Keep talking to me. I’d love to know what fun witchy games you like to play!
Introducing – Mr. Spoode
Today I’d like you to meet my new friend Mr. Spoode. How he came to the cave and became a member of the family will be revealed in a story later in the year! He’s really pretty and he’s made of Swarovski crystals and stunning Delicas — and I am getting so fond of him that Zanzibar is getting jealous.
But a girl can have lots of friends, can’t she?
If you’d like a Mr.Spoode of your own – visit http://kck.st/fundheckerty and make the Spoode pledge. If you do that by Monday June 27, 2001 – you’ll get a Mr. Spoode of your very own! Along with a lot of great Heckerty stuff. See you there!!
Wheeeeeeeee!!
On the roof, over to Fran’s for a quick touch and go, head over heels by Joy’s place – I waved to James but he didn’t see me – and back to Spellbound to celebrate!!
I wanted to do cartwheels but the carts were full and besides the horses turned and stared at me –
DRATTED TADPOLES — I didn’t know a witch could be so happy!! Whhheeeeeeeeeeeee!!
We made our minimum on Kickstarter and that means we’ll be funded! That’s awesome, that’s wonderful, that’s terrific, that’s whatever else it is!!
Thank you to all the backers – more then 100 of them – who made it happen!
And now — well we have 3 days in which to add as much as we can, because with a little extra we can get the word out about MEEEEE!
I am so happy – come on Zanz – we can dance!
Almost there……
I am soooo nervous I’ve been pacing up and down in the cave going slowly crazier. (Zanzibar says I’m already crazy – so I can’t be going there, fast or slow – ooooh that cat!)
But we’re nearly there, only a few more days and a few more dollars — and we HAVE to get a minimum of $12,000 to be funded.
I woke up this morning and thought I should make a money spell so we’d get there TODAY – but Zanzibar said no, that my spells so often go wrong that I’d end up with 12,000 dalmatians not 12,000 dollars. He’s probably right but DRATTED TADPOLES I’m so nervous, I think I’ll go and do something useful. Don’t tell Zanz, he doesn’t think I can do anything useful except give him kippers.
Stay tuned – and keep your fingers, toes and knees crossed for me!
